Dear Clients,

As you all are aware the federal government is operating under a partial government shutdown, as of today the US Trademark Office remains open for business as normal. This is because the Office has access to prior-year fee collections, which enables the USPTO to continue normal operations for a few weeks. 

Please note that should the USPTO exhaust these funds before a partial government shutdown comes to an end, they will have to shut down their operations too and this will impact their operations and will cause delays in the processing of filings, payments, etc. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR NOT COMPLYING WITH ANY MANDATED DEADLINE.

We will be individually contacting those clients who have upcoming deadlines to advise them what’s needs to be done to proceed immediately to file whatever is necessary in their cases.
